What are the affects of Valium and seroquel together?
It definitely wont make you die. It just might make you go to sleep quicker that's all...

yeah i did it for a few days. the side effects bothered me too much i could not stand it so i got off of it. It gave me RLS, ADHD while i was on it. and it was the worse to come off of.. I took the two together for a couple months or so but I had to quit taking the Abilify as I lost the ability to …make simple conversation. I couldn't talk to loved ones or friends. I sat there basically brain-dead. I stopped taking the Abilify but kept taking the Seroquel and the brain inactivity was no longer a problem. (MORE)
It is OK to take these two medications together. In fact it is commonly prescribed together.
I have been on Cymbalta (90mg) for a few years and have had severe problems with insomnia. The Ambien that my doctor prescribed me wasn't working, even if I took the highest dosage available. So, she prescribed 25mg Seroquel to help me sleep. It worked, but then I started having what they call Restl…ess Leg Syndrome. I'm not sure if that was caused by the Seroquel alone or the mixture of Cymbalta and Seroquel. Needless to say, I quit taking the Seroquel and my RLS symptoms disappeared. As far as I know, the two can be taken together since my doctor specifically prescribed them both to me. (MORE)
It is not advisable. Do not take them at the same time. If however you take Valium in the morning and take xanax that night it won't really harm you. It is just not advisable to mix these two medications. Always follow your doctors instructions for uses and dosages.
Taking Elavil and Seroquel together does increase the risk of heartrhythm irregularities. This is a rare side effect, but you shouldcheck with your doctor or pharmacist to make sure that thiscombination of drugs is right for you.
can seroquel and trazadone be taken together . yes seroquel and trazadone can be taken together, it will make you very drowsy though.
You can, however, there is a chance you may turn into Spiderman. Or Charlie Brown.
A definite yes. I am currently taking seroquel and zyprexa and i just talked to the pharmacist to see if i can take trazadone with these to help me sleep. He assured me the combination is fine.
I would say always check wikipedia, and if that doesn't help, check the medical prescription information paper things that come with your meds. To me there's nothing obvious why you couldn't =
Seroquel is in a class of medications known as anti psychotics.Tylenol is a fever reducer and a mild pain reliever. It is safe totake Seroquel and Tylenol together.
It is not recommended that you take both of these together. By taking them together it can cause seizures. For a seizure patient you definitely should not take them together. However, If you were to take Ativan or Valium today you would have to wait at least 3 days to take the opposite of the one yo…u took. This is for safe measures to get it out of his/her system. This is usually the reason why Doctors do not prescribe both to you. You have to make sure that you drink plenty of fluids why taking these medications. If you were not prescribed this medication do not take it without first consulting a doctor. (MORE)
Short answer: In general, yes, they can be taken together. But didyour doctor prescribe this treatment? If not, you should NOT assumethat YOU can take them together. I'm not a doctor or pharmacist butI'm quite sure that the combination wouldn't be appropriate forpatients with certain characteristics… in their medical histories.Let a doctor decide what prescription meds you can take. Long answer: I threw my back out badly on Sunday and my doctor (who I think isan outstanding physician and who I trust greatly) prescribedflexeril (10mg) and Valium (5mg) to manage the pain and stiffnessuntil he could get x-ray results and take the next step to curingthis thing. The original order was to take one of each pill twice aday. The medicine helped but I found that the morning dose seemedto wear off well before I took the nighttime dose. My doctor said Icould increase the dosage to three times a day and that's helped. The drugs aren't curing the problem (I wake up stiff and am in painuntil I take my first dose) but they are helping to make the paintolerable. The flexeril knocks me out if I don't take it withcoffee, but I guess that's kind of the point. My two other minorside effects are some dry mouth and constipation. (MORE)
Yes, but most likely increased sedation will be experienced. Be careful. Wouldn't recommend if driving or doing anything dangerous.
According to drugs.com, this combination can have a fatal interaction, possibly even resulting in sudden death. See: http://www.drugs.com/drug-interactions/haldol-with-seroquel-1230-729-1979-1274.html
yes they can be. i take 200mg of seroquel and 20 mg of paxil every night, by the time i wake up the peak effects are less severe and i feel great. i can sleep well now thanks to the seroquel and the paxil allows me to not be groggy and makes me feel as if im in a great mood! I've had great success a…nd i continue to take my medication without ever missing a dose, this combination has been a life saver for me. now, know that not every person is best suitable for this combination so make sure that you talk to your physician before making any decisions. any questions just email me: email@example.com funny email yes i know, but i check it every day. have a blessed day! -ric :) (MORE)
Yes, you can but you will want to go lower on each drug on your regular dosage level. If you haven't had either, I would not recommend this or start VERY LOW. If you are prescribed both medications, talk to your pharmacist or physician before taking both medications at the same time. It may be wi…se to ensure there is someone near by who can check on you periodically. (MORE)
Yes, but it's not really recommended. Both are very similar as they are both atypical antipsychotics typically prescribed for bipolar disorder (with other uses to treat depression, various panic disorders, and other off-label uses). I wouldn't advise taking the two together unless your psychiatri…st says otherwise since they are both essentially identical in their effects. The biggest difference is that zyprexa lasts at least 24 hours, while seroquel only lasts 6-8 hours. If you don't have a tolerence to either one of the drugs, then I would strongly advise against taking the two together since it will knock you out.... hard. (MORE)
No you have to wait at least six hours one is a stimulant and the other is a depressant
Yes. My psychiatrist has me on Wellbutrin, Celexa, and Seroquel, all at the same time. The best answer is to consult the doctor, though -- there are certain side effects that may affect certain people more than others.

Swim has abused these drugs recently, Swim has found that taking Seroquel in combination with Valium (which swim has much more experience with) produced a profound high with marked disorientation, confusion, and lack of motor control. The doses swim used were 25-40MG of Valium coupled with 75-150mg …of Seroquel. Valium alone does not produce a pronounced high in Swim. Swim found the Seroquel to be particularly debilitating and a dangerous additive for a mix of Valium,Xanax, and cannabis. But regarding your problem, Swim thinks that Seroquel tolerance plays a major role in the equation, along with dosage. If you have Seroquel tolerance already, Swim is certain that an individual with tolerance would react much differently to the combination, and not suffer such debilitating effects. Otherwise be careful not to over do it or you may get extremely groggy, confused, frustrated, and generally unable to function in a way that Swim found almost disturbing. (MORE)
Yes , but only the regular Allegra, not the Allegra-D. You should always check with your doctor or pharmacist, I asked my pharmacist who said the regular Allegra could be taken with serouel.
If a doctor prescribes you both, yes. If not, consult your doctor before taking both
Yes theres no problem with that. just watch the dose dont take too much of both
I have taken a 5 mg Valium to sleep at night and I take 4 Percocet a day. I've been ok so far but just hard to get up in the morning so I usually just take 1/2 of a 5 mg Valium at night only. All it does is counteract the effects of the Percocet anyway.
Yes.I took buspar and serequel for three months after leaving a drug rehab center. It was prescribed by my doctor
Yes you can. Depending on the dosages. Never exceed 2 grams of Tylenol per day.
Paxil is indicated for depressed and anxious pt. IT has got potent anti-anxiety properties. The interaction with seroquel will probably be more sedation, sleepiness...
A definite yes. I was just prescribed seroquel on top of my existing zyprexa prescription.
You can take these so long as you are under a doctor's supervision. Taking them together will increase the sedative effects. Remember that Valium is habit forming, and don't take extra. I urge you to find a good therapist and learn healthy coping skills to deal with your anxiety and stress. Therapy… is the only CURE for anxiety, and then you can get rid of the tranquilizers and get back to living! (MORE)
Yes, this is OK. But I am going to give you the "Valium Lecture." There is only one way to CURE anxiety - that is with therapy! I urge you to find a good therapist and get off the tranquilizers. Therapy will teach you healthy ways to cope with stress and anxiety instead of relying on sedatives. …Valium-diazpam,xanax- Alprazolam ,lorazapam-ativan,colonopin, and colozapam are all benzodiazepines. These are useful in treating anxiety, insomnia, agitation, seizures, muscle spasms, alcohol withdrawal and as a premedication for medical or dental procedures. BUT don't take them for more than 30 to 90 days at most. Any longer and your body will become dependent, then if want to stop them, but you are addicted to any one, you're stuck with a benzo problem, a physical addiction.so you either stay on them the rest of your life or you withdrawal from them. The most frequent symptoms of withdrawal from benzodiazepines are insomnia, gastric problems, tremors, agitation, fearfulness, and muscle spasms. The less frequent effects are irritability, sweating, depersonalization, derealization, hypersensitivity to stimuli, depression, suicidalbehavior, psychosis, seizures, and delirium tremers Severe symptoms usually occur as a result of abrupt or over-rapid withdrawal. Abrupt withdrawal can be dangerous, therefore a gradual reduction regime is recommended. As with all prescription drugs, only take then under the supervision of a doctor. (MORE)
Yes. Taking these two medications together is not contraindicated (except for individuals with seizure disorders or bulimia, as they should not be prescribed Wellbutrin).
yes, both pills can be taken at the same time. i wouldn't suggest it because it may cause serious drowsyness.. unless that is what you want
yes you can last year i was on 2mg xanax 4x a day and 1600mg of serquel a day as directed by my doctor
Yes, but as both meds are highly sedative, you will feel very sleepy, at least in the beginning.
I don't know if this helps but I am a 41yo man and i am prescribed Klonopin and Seroquel (Klonopin is about the same drug as Valium, same family but i think klonopin is a little stronger) anyway I take them both at the same time in the morning (1mg Klonopin, 300mg Seroquel) and at night (2mg Klonopi…n, 300mg Seroquel). I also take 1mg twice during the day. I have no problem with it except the Seroquel makes me drowsy and hungry. My Dx is Bi-polar schizo-affective and general anxiety disorder. Hope this helps. (MORE)
well if it helps my phdoc has me on 40 ml celexa and 50ml of seroquel. seems to be a good combination for me i feel okay through the day and sleep well at night. i take celexa in the morning and seroquel at bedtime.
No, you cannot take phenobarbital and seroquel together.Phenobarbitol decreases the level or effect of quetiapine oral byaltering drug metabolism.
They can be taken together at lower doses than you would take if each were on its own. It'll just zonk you out, you'll be walking aroud like a zombie
Well technically yes. There are many people who are prescribed both medications. The Seroquel is an anti-psychotic given to those who suffer from bi-polar/manic depression (although in smaller doses it is given as a sleep aid). The codeine is a very mild version of the stronger opiates such as H yd…rocodone, Oxycodone, and morphine. Funny enough, Codeine is a "pro-drug" because it actually converts to morphine in the blood stream. Of course the responsible thing for me to say is that you should only take the 2 together if prescribed...but let's get real...if you were prescribed them together you probably would not be asking the question to begin with LOL. Medication reactions differ from person to person. For example, my husband takes 300mg XR Seroquel per day. If I were to take more than 25mg, I would be passed out for days! AND HE WEIGHS TWICE AS MUCH AS ME!! However in the same respect, I can take 3 Tylenol 4's w/Codeine and be pain free and slightly buzzed (which is wrong to say, but I am not going to lie to someone who wants a truthful answer). If my husband takes even ONE Tylenol 4 w/Codeine, he throws up all night. Some people claim that Seroquel offers a hallucinogenic high accompanied by euphoria (similar to the feeling of being drunk). Others argue that when taken properly, Seroquel does not work instantly but rather kicks in over time (as with anti-depressants). There is a moderate interaction between the 2 drugs...but it is only because they are both CNS depressants, and the pharmaceutical companies MUST advise the user about POSSIBLE respiratory depression. But in the same regard, you get the same warning about alcohol and Hydrocodone. The best thing I can tell you is that if you are taking the drugs recreationally...take it slow, as Seroquel is a very powerful anti-psychotic. If you are prescribed both and are still worried...consult a pharmacist by calling a pharmacy in another town/citystate...in case you are worried about them "catching on" to abusive behavior. PLEASE PLEASE do not listen to people on underground drug abuse forums...many of those people are beyond help and are probably taking ALOT more drugs than just these 2...and most likely in MUCH higher doses. Be safe, consider the moderate interaction when dosing to avoid potential overdose (basically start with a low dose of each), and also check with a doctor or pharmacist (NOT an Internet junkie that is beyond help). WELL...there is your long answer, there is no harm in learning about what we put in our bodies...and now I will tell you what you really wanted to hear the whole time: YES, they are safe together IN MODERATION (and legally, only if prescribed). If you have ANY other questions regarding medications, I will be glad to tell you what I know and what I have experienced. So if you feel like asking more questions or just want some 411...respond to this and I will check back! Be well, take care of yourself, and feel better :) PS: I am not condoning illegal drug use and I am also not judging those abusers on the forum...it is just the truth. PPS: Please disregard my spelling errors, the spell check on the thing is really wonky! LOL. Take care :) (MORE)
Seroquel and percocet should NOT be taken together. **Please speak to your pharmacist about it.**
No they should not. Seroquel will cause drowsiness and so will Dilaudid. If you wish to take them together you should first ask your doctor. They need to be sure the milligrams in each prescription won't be enough to cause CNS (Central Nervous System) depression.
Yes! I take Prozak in the morning and seroquel at night. I was suffering from PTSD and couldn't sleep. I was also depressed so I was taking Prozak. And it perked me right up. I feel so "normal" again...back to the ole me!! :) I've lost 30 lbs and got a job promotion, all because I wasn't "tripping o…ut" on my past anymore.... LOL!! (MORE)
You can, but both drugs are highly sedative, so you might reconsider it. You will sleep many hours and you may feel sleepy during daytime.
yes, if it's necessary and Dr. approved, depending on other medications taken at the same time. However, do not drink alcohol or drive. Take caution while taking these medications in conjunction with each other, they can cause short term block in memory such as in hypnosis.
Yes you can. I take 400 mg seroquel and 300 mg bupropion daily and I feel fine. However, both medications lower the threshold for seizures. When you take them together, this means that the chance that you will have an epileptic seizure will be bigger. Be careful with alcohol.
Maybe. Seroquel can cause significant drowsiness, as can Ambien (obviously). Due to the overlapping "side effects," this combination should only be used in patients for whom a doctor has determined that the benefits outweigh the risks. In other words, your doctor will determine if this is a safe com…bination for you. It may not be safe for all patients. A doctor may avoid this combination in a frail patient of advanced age due to high risk of slip-and-fall type injuries. On the other hand, the psychological benefits may exceed the risks in a different patient. If your doctor has prescribed this combination, discuss any concerns with him or her. Do not discontinue your medicine except under the advice of a doctor or pharmacist. (MORE)
They are very different drugs. Seroquel is an anti-psychotic, whereas Valium is a benzodiazepine. both drugs can cause sedation, but generally they aren't interchangable, as they have substantially different effects.
no i did it and ended up in hospital with slowed breathing and chest pain
My pdoc already gave me i think it was 25mg seroquel plus the 3mg risperdal, it was for releasing anxiety and it helped me sleep, so yes I think there is no problem combining the two.
